This is beyond incredible, a moment I never thought I'd witness. Actual footage from the extensively long-awaited sequel to Avatar. I remember watching it on conventional 3D with friends in 2009, it will be amazing to see this in IMAX 3D, considering also all the other technical improvements like 4K, HDR, maybe HFR and much improved CGI animations. These shots look spectacular, the detail is extraordinary. Cannot wait to discover the storyline and meet the new characters. When James Cameron said there was going to be a sequel, he truly meant it and ... delivered! The incredible thing is that at least 3 more are planned after this one. This is proof, given that it'll be good and I think it will, that is always worth it to wait, even longer than normal, if it means received a much better crafted and curated product. Quality over quantity or frequency. These days sagas can rarely capture your interest, be enticing and something you look forward to. This could be different, for a change. Absolutely stocked for this one. P.S. "Set more than a decade after the events of the first film" well, this adds up to the film's realism, then :P

This trailer legit brought tears to my eyes. Talk about a stunning combination of music and visuals. On a side note, I'm curious to what became of the Omaticaya clan. It seems that it's only Jake / Neytiri and their family that are traveling to these new lands.

  123. SmallDragon7804

    SmallDragon7804ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ

It appears Mo'at is staying behind to care for the Omaticaya with the help of a temporary leader who may not be all he appears to be. Until the threat has passed, Jake, Neytiri, and their kids will not be safe with them. By taking refuge with the Metkayina, they have a chance for peace and calm. Of course, they will have to learn the clan's customs, including Neytiri as she does not know them due to being a mainland Na'vi. It seems they will struggle to fit in, which is most likely due to Jake's human connections. However, that does not mean they won't make new friends. There is a clip of Tsireya taking Neytiri and two of her kids to see the Cove of the Ancestors, a place sacred to her clan. She is accompanied by either Aonong or Rotxo. There is no doubt Tonowari and Ronal will be uncertain about these Na'vi becoming a part of their clan as their interactions with their mainland counterparts have been limited.

Have you thought that maybe there wasn't anything given away in this teaser because, much like the original film, it's all style and no substance? I hope I'm wrong and in fairness I'm feeling quite bitter because I know I'm in for months and months of Avatar hype all over again whether I want to see it or not, but it's very telling most people are excited about what it looks like as opposed to getting to see the characters again. There's also nothing wrong with just liking something because it's pretty. Films don't have to tell some deep, meaningful story to be good but the way Avatar was so overhyped is just infuriating because it didn't deserve it and would have been a flop were it not for the visuals. Did it pave the way for better CGI in cinema? Absolutely! Praise it for that! The way it was held up as some kind of cinematic masterpiece was ridiculous. People remember things like the journey to Mordor to destroy The One Ring, Neo dodging bullets and fighting Agent Smith for the first time, Nakatomi plaza or even The Snap / Blip. People don't remember lazy re-hashes of Pocahontas with none of the personality or charm.

But tbh, i am white and i am sick of so many western people thinking they are supreme and the rest of the world is underdeveloped. They got themselves a mindset that they are the natural best and good, and therefore have the right to lecture non western people. Personally i care about every individual but i am ashamed about my society.

Avatar was almost 3 hours but it didn't seem that long.

  168. The Angry Hippie

Back when AVATAR was released, there were news articles depicting a large number of people feeling depression and suicidal after watching the movie. As someone who felt this depression after seeing the movie for the first time in cinemas, I can tell you that the depression does not stem from the want to be on Pandora, the depression stems from the fact that this Earth IS Pandora. The depression settles in as more realizations begin to occur. Humanity is allowing itself to become a disease to the planet, all for the sake of material gain. In any movie review of James Cameron’s AVATAR, we are mostly told it is praised for it’s CGI and not for it’s story. Which for the most part, lacked originality. Comparisons are made to previous stories. Stories such as Ferngully, Pocahontas, and Dances with Wolves. Yet, what astounds me is that while people compare AVATAR to these films, they do not compare it to the events and situations that these films are focused on. Events and situations that are still ongoing to this day. AVATAR uses symbolism and imagery to portray the atrocities committed by the Corporatocracy. And, how our ignorance not only allows these atrocities to occur - but, also has halted our evolution. AVATAR is not only a social commentary on the Extortion of Natural Resources, Exploitation of Indigenous Peoples, or Aboriginal Genocide. It is a simulation of what life can be.. I have made a in depth analysis of the film on my channel. Every claim in the analysis can be researched by anyone and a clear consensus can be reached. The film not only shows that the planet we are from is the mother of all life, it shows an alternative form of humanity. The Na'Vi are representative of Neohumanism*, the next stage in our evolutionary path. The humans depicted in the film are clearly shown to be from the Western world. Working for Corporations that seek to maximize profits regardless of social or environmental loss. So, what we have here is a film depicting two possible forms of humanity, the old paradigm vs the new paradigm,

Unless the production's rushed for some reason or had a smaller budget, the fact that there’s still wonky CGI work in today’s time is inexcusable (especially in big Hollywood movies) because this… this looks absolutely stunning, especially since technology has advanced so much. Thank god the visuals and CGI weren’t a complete downgrade (as of now) and only got better. Of course, no matter what you think of his movies or Avatar, James Cameron is a master at waiting and developing new tech to complement his craft/style. I’m intrigued to see what James Cameron and the crew has to offer.

The magic of learning about a film from the theatre is gone. But then as I sat down to watch Multiverse of Madness I was blindsided by Avatar. Say what you want about James Cameron, but one thing you can't deny is that he's a true pioneer. For the original Avatar, he could have made it a long time ago but he knew the CGI at the time wouldn't do his vision of the film justice. So he spent years and millions of dollars developing new motion capture technology and developed new 3D cameras until he felt he could do it right. With Avatar 2 he knew the under water scenes weren't convincing enough, so once again he spent years and millions of dollars to develop new technology to capture actors actually acting under water. For Titanic, he could have done it all in CGI but knew it wouldn't hold up, so instead he actually had half of the ship built so it would be a realistic as possible Not to mention he's actually been on several under water voyages in the ocean. For better or for worse, he's absolutely unwilling to compromise to create his vision and for that I respect him.

  203. AvariceMidas

    AvariceMidasਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ

This I will agree with. Visually Avatar is absolutely stunning and we probably wouldn't have what we do today were it not for people like Cameron pushing the limitations of what can be done. Even now the CGI used in Avatar has held up surprisingly well when you really wouldn't expect it to considering its age at this point.

  204. UnimpressedGojira

    UnimpressedGojiraਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ

Indeed. He can be known as an intolerable asshat jerk-off perfectionist....but you cannot deny that he seeks and aims to be as close to perfection as possible and won't tolerate half-measures...and when his vision has come fully through, you cannot begin to fathom the amount of time, energy, money and effort he and his team puts into making something so grandeur. He really is the modern CGI cinematic equivalent of Cecil B. DeMille ( _The Ten Commandments_ , 1956), David Lean ( _Laurence of Arabia_ , 1962)and William Wyler ( _Ben-Hur_ , 1959). _Avatar_ (2009) was a cinematic masterpiece and a revival to the old analogy of "falling in love and being reborn into a new family that was once your enemy." While _Avatar_ really is just _Dances With Wolves_ (1990) but in space off of Jupiter's moon Pandora, the way the retelling was done was just breathtaking and a marvel for the technology, music and the story itself (even if James Horner (God rest his soul) is just using the same musical notes from when he did _Troy_ (2004) and _Apocalypto_ (2006)). Simply put, a masterful hardass of his artistry and vision.

They are like a temporary escape from the real world, just like video games they offer us humans a look into some other person(s) life and make us think "damn that's so cool that *Superman* (4 example) can lift an entire mountain!" or "Wonder is such a babe (from a males and some females perspective)" and I know life has not been good to *some* of us in a lot of ways and that it can all be a huge let-down but you still got to love the things you *might* have like your mother, your father, your guardian, your older brother or your older sister and so many other people that you know still love you for who you are so don't hurt yourself for not having *that* better life just know that you are not alone and if you need someone to talk to....
